We’ll show you how to use the eToro trading app, which offers multi-asset trading, 0% commissions, and a built-in social network. Having multiple payment methods available to fund your account is important when you first sign up for a brokerage app. You might find the mobile app is perfect for trading on the go, but prefer to use the web platform when you’re at your desk. Watchlists allow you to easily monitor a group of stocks that are setting up for potential trades. If you’re not watching the news, there’s no way to know why a stock’s price might be jumping – and there’s certainly no way to trade around the price movement. Having the option to build custom indicators may also be important to more experienced day traders.

The purpose of this article is to provide readers with an overview of day trading platforms that are available in the UK. Client funds are always accessible and are held in segregated accounts with the most reputable and secure banks — separate from company capital. The company has now changed its name to Admirals, claiming that the rebrand marks the continued evolution of the platform. Established in 2014, Trade Nation has quickly built a solid reputation in the trading world. This commitment to trader education helps both beginners and experienced traders enhance their trading skills and make informed decisions. The company offers a variety of trading platforms accessible via the web, desktop and mobile devices.
MetaStock scores 4.50 because it is built for serious usd to hkd technical analysis (trading system development), forecasting, scanning, and backtesting. Pro+ is the most popular plan, offering support for multiple devices and extensive features. My lab testing shows that the best day trading platforms are not all built for the same trader.
Pulling a quote for a 3x leveraged ETF — I got an explainer noting these funds reset daily and are built for day trading. Webull is a fast, modern platform designed specifically for active, technical investors who love charting, market momentum, and community interaction. The platform offers massive depth, ranging from advanced order algorithms to a data-heavy options chain packed with Greeks and volatility metrics. Interactive Brokers is built for self-directed investors who want institutional-grade trading capabilities packed into a highly customizable, mobile-first workflow. I tried building multi-leg options spreads (checked for real-time Greeks), and tested whether drawing trendlines and adding technical indicators with a thumb was genuinely viable.

TradingView is an invaluable data-and-charts platform with highly customizable charting tools; 400-plus built-in indicators and strategies; and real-time data on stocks (foreign exchange), cryptocurrency, and more. While Trade Ideas offers exceptional value, it’s important to note that there’s a considerable investment required. The AI-powered smart risk levels on every chart are suitable for both long-term investors and active traders. You can also build your own scanners and screeners with over 500 data points and indicators to choose from. And for advanced traders, Schwab does feature higher-than-average margin rates, but that’s still better than TD, which typically had some of the highest margin rates among popular brokerages. The service boasts 400,000 economic data points, more than 400 technical studies, an earnings tool that explains their effect on options prices, even a programming language so you can build your own trading algorithms.
It enables investors to open, close, and manage their market positions online via a financial intermediary, such as an online broker. They provide tools for buying and selling investments, but market prices can rise or fall quickly. The main risks include overtrading (emotional decisions), market volatility, fast losses, technical issues, and cybersecurity concerns. Beginners can start small, but smaller accounts may limit trading options and potential returns. Day trading apps can be useful for beginners, but they should be used carefully.
The three main types of technical analysis charts are; bar, line and candlestick. A desktop monitor will always be the first choice to view technical analysis tools and charts. We will also outline how to compare trading applications and the key differences vs desktop trading. Like most things in today’s technology-absorbed world, trading and investments have become an everyday activity via mobile and portable devices.

Download the broker’s platform—desktop version for detailed analysis (e.g., customizable charts, hotkeys) or mobile app for on-the-go monitoring. Margin boosts potential but heightens losses, so understand interest charges and margin calls. Note that the proposed FINRA amendments (approved in 2025 (with full implementation potentially in 2026) may shift to risk-based margins), which could lower barriers—check for updates.
It is less suitable for beginners who want a simple interface or traders who primarily want access to crypto, forex, or non-US markets. TradeStation is best suited to experienced day traders who rely on technical analysis, custom indicators, and strategy-based trading across stocks, options, and futures. Futures and options trading involve leverage and can result in rapid losses if positions move against the trader. For experienced traders (however), TradeStation offers a highly customisable and performance-oriented trading environment.
This app also supports copy portfolios, which enables you to set a portion of your portfolio so that it automatically copies another trader’s positions. You can quickly pull up technical charts in full-screen mode and compare price movements between assets. To start — this day trading app offers 0% commission on stock and CFD trades, plus commissions that are typically below the industry average. In order to do that (you need a top day trading app that can help you quickly conduct research), manage risk, and more.
Find all strikes from the options chain and display bid/ask prices, open interest, volatility and greeks for each option. Set alerts based on one or multiple conditions, in one or multiple time frames. Diversified tools for all kind of trading styles (from beginners to experienced traders), from long term to day trading. Whether you are talking your first steps in the world of day trading or already have some experience, you should find the built-in trading simulator extremely useful.

Yes, day trading without margin is possible on many platforms by trading fully funded positions. Do day trading platforms offer the same protections as long-term investing accounts? Many US day trading platforms allow accounts to be opened with no minimum deposit.
General Advice WarningSMSF Mate is a unique website because it has ideas about how to approach SMSFs, insurance and other financial topics that come straight from first hand experience. It's much more useful than what you find on all the other financial websites that just offer generic info that you could easily get on the ATO's website. It's also nice to know there's no financial incentive behind the information, it's legitimately there to help people understand self-managed super funds and how to get the most out of them, not to get an affiliate commission from a broker or other financial services provider. The investment product information is also incredibly useful, I've never seen this kind of functionality on any other website that let's you look at such a wide range of products, sort by what info is most interesting or important to you, and subscribe to updates for different funds and financial products all in one place. Definitely worth checking out if you own or are considering an SMSF!
SMSF Mate provides a unique insight into superannuation and financial topics in a way that is easier to understand than conventional websites. The colloquial nature of the site makes it easy to understand and they often speak about complicated topics in lamens terms so I can wrap my head around them. The investment product information is a great way to research funds that I am interested in investing in with my SMSF and there is a lot of helpful information on the site for better structuring my investment portfolio. In comparison to other websites which offer similar information, SMSF Mate excels as the information is free to access whereas many other sites charge a subscription fee for the same thing. Overall, I think SMSF Mate is a great resource for SMSF trustees and is worth looking at for a variety of super-related topics. Thanks.
